Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) Growth is Unstoppable! Congratulations on 40,000 customers using BC cloud

Business Central Growth is on Fire 🔥

In the past five years, I have written many articles on the insane growth of Business Central (BC) and this year is no different.

Today Microsoft announced on it's public social media pages that Dynamics 365 Business Central is now at 40,000 customers using it's all cloud product. This is double the amount of customers that were using the software back in March of 2022.  While my growth rates were a little off (and maybe a little wishful), one thing remains clear. The number of customers that are embracing an all Microsoft fully integrated eco-system with Dynamics 365 Business Central (ERP), Dynamics 365 Sales (CRM), Power Platform, Azure all embedded with the Microsoft apps that are used daily by organization is quickly growing.

This includes the rapid pace of Dynamics NAV and Dynamics GP customers migrating to the all-cloud solution along with the adoption of the better capabilities for customers looking to move from NetSuite, Intacct, Sage, JD Edwards and more.

No wonder it was named Forbes Top ERP for 2024!

Congratulations on the whole Microsoft and Dynamics 365 Business Central teams, who are heavily invested in making this the best cloud software for ERP, ever.

March 2022- Back in the fall, I attended directions EMEA and these were the numbers from the early fall customer SaaS accounts (doesn't include the BC on Prem/NAV on Prem versions with 100K customers) , which almost met my growth chart below on my previous blogpost about BC Customer Growth, written in 2020.

As expected D365 Business Central and the Dynamics 365 platform are exceeding growth expectations year over year, with some amazing numbers and a 250% growth rate.

So who is using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central:

Manufacturers and Distributors
Healthcare and Physicians Offices
Major League Sports Teams
ECommerce and Online Sites
Agriculture
Marijuana
3PL Warehouses
Professional Services (Lawyers, Doctors)
Education
Non-For-Profits
& More

The best part of this software is that it just keeps getting better. 100s of new features are set to release next month in April to enhance the BC experience along with 100s of new apps being introduced monthly in the AppSource Store that can be deployed in minutes. Easy to learn, easy to customize, no servers or hardware, sandbox environments included and the ability to connect to the Power Platform, CRM and Power BI in a few minutes are just a few of the reasons why! Oh, don't get me started with the out of the box connections to Outlook and Teams!

What is the big deal with this software? Seeing is believing. Ask me for a free demo! Email me: smullins@accelerynt.com

The latest announcement coming out of the Dynamics Business Central (BC) Microsoft virtual event last month was the extremely rapid growth of the software. There are now over 10,000 customers using D365 Business Central cloud-based ERP software with a strong 125k on-premise base. That’s a 250% growth rate! The momentum for this product is amazing! It is no surprise with the amazing ease of use features, monthly subscription fees (not annual), fast implementation, and full integration with Microsoft Office 365 functionality.

To imagine what the software will be 5-10 years from now, let's assume we keep on the same trajectory for a 250% year-over-year growth. What does that look like in terms of numbers of users using BC Cloud? If you look at the graph below, at this current rate, BC will exceed 25,000 customers next year and be well over 100,000 customers by 2023. I believe based on what I am seeing and hearing from the market that this growth rate will continue for at least the next five years.

How does this compare to the current competition?

  • Oracle NetSuite: Estimated around 18,000 customers per Oracle
  • Sage Intacct: Estimated around 5,000 customers per Sage.
  • Acumatica: Estimated at 4,000 per Acumatica.

Microsoft is crushing it. There is truly no limit as we see an increase movement from these platforms above to BC, from SAP to BC, from GP, NAV and SL to BC as well as Quickbooks, Epicor and Peachtree users also making the migration?
