Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) Growth is Insane!

The latest announcement coming out of the Dynamics Business Central (BC) Microsoft virtual event last month was the extremely rapid growth of the software. There are now over 10,000 customers using D365 Business Central cloud-based ERP software with a strong 125k on-premise base. That’s a 250% growth rate! The momentum for this product is amazing! It is no surprise with the amazing ease of use features, monthly subscription fees (not annual), fast implementation, and full integration with Microsoft Office 365 functionality.  To imagine what the software will be 5-10 years from now, let's assume we keep on the same trajectory for a 250% year-over-year growth. What does that look like in terms of numbers of users using BC Cloud? If you look at the graph below, at this current rate, BC will exceed 25,000 customers next year and be well over 100,000 customers by 2023. I believe based on what I am seeing and hearing from the market that this growth rate will continue for at least the

Statistical (Unit Accounts) for Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC)

As we have been selling more and more Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) deals this year, we had a growing need for statistical accounts inside the product, similar to what GP had called Unit Accounts (statistical accounts). ABS, now known as Stoneridge Software has developed a free app/extension for BC to use and track statistical accounts. You can even take the statistical accounts and add them to report schedules inside Business Central to provide calculations and KPI type reporting.  Statistical Accounts   for Business Central lets you create, monitor, and report upon non-financial data within your general ledger accounts. More information about their app can be found here: If you are in the need for tracking stat accounts or replacing unit accounts with BC cloud, I highly recommend their product!

Collections Management for BC

As we have been selling more and more Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) deals this year, we had a growing need for a more advanced Collections Management system, similar to what Professional Advantage had created for Dynamics GP. Needs often requested: Actions Reminders Invoice level notes Aging with notes Payment Link  Assigned Collectors My friend, Ryan McBee at ISolutions created a very, nice slick extension at a very low rate of $100/month. Their solution provides all of the needs above and more. They even have the ability for payment processing for ACH and Credit Card along with payment links on invoices. For an additional $100/month you can also add a self-service portal for your clients including automated reminder and reminder levels.  If you are in the need for collections management with BC cloud, I highly recommend their product!

Microsoft MVP, Granite Award, Acquisition and More!

2020 is turning out to be a whirlwind of a year!  COVID, Civil Unrest, and a roller coaster economy! For myself, it has been my own version of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.  We started the acquisition process back in the fall of 2019. I was under NDA until everything was finalized and was diligently working on due diligence, building up the Microsoft practice and also working on getting all my requirements in for my MVP nomination. On March 15, our Microsoft practice was finally acquired and we are now officially MorganFranklin Consulting. MorganFranklin has been in the consulting business for over 20+ years focusing on advisory services, technical accounting, digital transformation and strategy and ERP selections and implementations. Our team was a much needed piece of the missing puzzle when it came to ERP selections and implementations.  A little history, MorganFranklin had also just come out of acquisition and was acquired by our now parent company and current client, Vaco i
